MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Litigation & Regulatory
Our global team of disputes and regulatory lawyers is the largest dedicated disputes practice globally as recognized by The Lawyer's Top 50 Litigation survey.
Candidates will have a broad range of work, that will include, but not be limited to :
Supporting on all aspects of dispute resolution and risk management of high quality, highly complex disputes across a range of sectors;
Drafting, reviewing and amending a range of disputes related documents
Have strong regulation and / or commercial experience, preferably gained in a leading or international firm.
Can demonstrate a deep understanding of the technical issues that are key to our clients
Are commercially astute and stay current on key legal and business news
Have excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working
Provide a professional, quality service in a timely manner, and respond effectively to requests from internal and external clients
Comply with professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations
Understand positive client support
Work co-operatively in a team, sharing information and knowledge
Recognise and seize opportunities for the firm, including repeat business
Build and develop their own network of internal and external contacts
Have an awareness of business development opportunities in the sector, can identify ways to contribute, and lead on those initiatives
Advising clients and managing clients' expectations and project delivery appropriately;
Liaising with and taking instruction from clients;
Attending client meetings; and Legal research
We do not set upper or lower limits of PQE for any of our vacancies. We have however given an indicative PQE as an approximate guide for applicants.
Candidates who have between 5 and 8 years PQE are likely to have the right level of knowledge and have gained the right level of experience needed to be able to undertake this role.
Candidates are expected to have :
Candidates will have a background in regulation gained from an in-house role or at a leading law firm
Strong commercial awareness of the sector and the context for regulation
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of technical regulatory issues and an ability to research and digest new areas of regulation
Drafts documents using a commercial, client focused style
Complies with professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations
Complies with the firm's systems, policies and procedures in all matters - including compliance, financial systems and time recording
Knows and understands how to best utilize information and research resources.
Adaptable with an aptitude for upskilling, problem solving and applying analytical skills to a wide variety of work types under the broad regulatory umbrella
Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news
