Our Client is a global estate investor, developer and fund manager. For their Luxembourg AIFM we are mandated to secure their FD who will also act as the CO for & fund operations and delegates oversight.
The mandate will include board level participation.
The Luxembourg AIFM is currently managing 3 funds (AUM EUR) with a 4th nearing close. This incorporates an open-ended fund which naturally creates a greater degree of activity / opportunity.

The incumbent will have full responsibility for the oversight of European fund operations activities and the conduct of all relevant controls for the delegated services and regulatory financial reporting.
In addition, he / she will be in charge as a representative of the company and its shareholders towards the supervisory authorities (CSSF) and external advisors in Luxembourg.
The incumbent will work closely with stakeholders across Europe and the US.
THE ROLE :
Conducting Officer : in charge of delegated functions :
Financial Requirements & Reporting :
Manage the roll-up of consolidated budgets and forecasts and preparation of Annual / Quarterly Fund Budget Reviews, and GP Budgets where applicable;
Perform treasury functions for the Fund, as needed, including cash management, debt compliance and risk management, and release payments as an authorized signatory;
Analytical review of all fund level financial statements and analysis, as well as overall presentation;
Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual reports to investors by the service provider;
Review of, including, but not limited to, Preliminary NAV / AMF / preferred return / promote / performance fee calculations;
Manage INREV reporting as required;
Manage quarterly compliance Reporting / Testing as required at the Fund level (including AML, KYC compliance of investors through liaising with investors, Transfer Agent and AIFMD reporting);
Conduct periodic detailed review of fund working papers etc.
Review audited financial statements with complete footnotes;
Oversee the conversion of statutory books into LUX GAAP, or US Tax basis books, as required;
Assist in the coordination and preparation of Fund Valuations and Property Valuations, as required
Service providers Management :
Continuously ensure that the Management Company and the AIFs are fully compliant with all the relevant rules, regulations and CSSF circulars ( 18 / 698) with regards to the areas of responsibility;
Assess the robustness of and maintain up to date internal policies and procedures,
Assure that all work is completed accurately and timely in accordance with Company standards and procedures;
Constantly strive for consistency in accounting and uniformity in reporting among the various Funds;
Strategic supervision and coordination of all quarterly and annual reporting requirements and due dates.
Manage the internal audit process in conjunction with the Internal Auditor as required under the responsibilities as a Conducting Officer.
Liaison and controls :
Act as a liaison with independent auditors, (external and Internal) accounting, custodian, legal, tax and any other service providers, coordinate interim review procedures, as necessary, and final audits;
Review of service provider performance and perform related RFPs, when required,
Review & Consolidations :
Conduct consolidation review of IFRS based financial statements and US Tax based financial statements and projections, as required;
Conduct the review of NAV reconciliation between IFRS and other reported figures (eg. INREV, US GAAP etc.), as required;
Investor Relations & Reporting :
Analyze Fund performance vs. budget and projections and explain material variances;
Support Investor Relations department and the Portfolio Management team;
Review of various Investor specific reporting requirements incl. quarterly interaction with GP and Joint Venture Partners, including Capital calls / distributions;
THE PROFILE :
An experienced professional of the RE funds industry in Luxembourg; you will in all likelihood be in a similar role either directly within another AIFM or third party ManCo.
Ideally you will have gained broad knowledge within the wider European fund regulatory environment.
You will likely be known to, and possess a track record with the CSSF either as an advisory professional of the industry or as a function holder
The candidate will ideally have experience with both open and closed ended Funds and strong experience in real estate or infrastructure funds
Exposure to the Lux FCP structure is a clear advantage
A high-quality education most likely to Masters level in a finance related discipline
Highly organized and self-motivated with strong presentation skills experience with presenting at board level or similar
The successful candidate will need to quickly assimilate the complex AIF structures, operational environment, investment strategies of the AIFs and how that relates to the operational framework of the AIFM
Fluency in written and oral English and ideally French or German
