The challenges you’ll help to tackle
You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the team in a fast-paced work environment.
Within the team, you will directly report to the Conducting Officer Valuation :
You will co-create and co-design financial models for the calculation of net present values for alternative investments with an initial focus on the asset classes private equity, venture capital, fund of funds and debt;
You will review, validate and challenge external appraisals on all components (cash flow forecasts, construction of the discount factor, other crucial factors and model assumptions);
You will liaise with portfolio managers and valuation providers in Luxembourg and abroad, partnering together and aligning on current topics and future developments;
You will generally support and partner with the Conducting Officer in the day to day duties (i.e. valuation framework, processes and policies of the AIFM and AIFs) and work with him along on new projects (like implementation of new regulatory changes) and products like infrastructure or Crypto, projects like license extensions and technical developments;
You will work closely with the risk management team on the analysis of the assets (like common drivers and how a change in the discount rate affects a risk category), and the drivers behind movements and how this impacts both functions;
You will collaborate with the risk management team on the development of features and new applications (like the liquidity stress-testing), to bridge the gaps between the disciplines, and creating a cohesive solution that creates the maximum value for the teams and clients
Who you are
You hold a Degree in Finance, Banking, Business, Economics, Mathematics or similar;
CFA or equivalent additional qualifications are a strong advantage;
You have 2-4 years’ professional experience in a comparable role e.g. third-party or in-house AIFM, in an asset management or a big4 company, corporate finance or deal advisory;
You have (a first) experience in the asset classes private equity and venture capital, fund of fund and private debt infrastructure or RE are a plus;
You have a good knowledge of the regulatory framework regarding alternative investment funds and asset managers (e.g. LuxGaap, IFRS, UCITS Law 2010, IPEV guidelines, AIFM Directive resp. CDR 231 / 2013);
You are a fluent user of MS Excel VBA programming or Python skills are an advantage;
You are fluent in English, any other languages is an asset;
You are an analytical mind, with a passion for figures and can communicate complex topics adjusted to its audience;
You are actively following the financial markets and the latest products and trends;
You are able to prioritize workload, roll up your sleeves and manage several tasks;
You are dynamic and proactive with a drive to learn more about valuations and risk;
You display a positive and enthusiastic attitude;
Finally, you have an amazing sense of humor : )
