What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will use your educational and work experience to learn about internal audit. You will support audit leads in delivering audit engagements in various areas of the organization.

This is a challenging job in an international environment, within a team of more than 300 internal auditors worldwide, of which 16 are employed at our office in Luxembourg.

What will you do?

  • Provide independent, objective risk assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of risk management practices, internal control and corporate governance processes in the RBC Investor Services area, primarily in but not limited to Europe.
  • Help our internal stakeholders successfully identify and prevent risk. Our professionals act as process engineers challenging existing structures and identifying opportunities for the business to strengthen their environment in alignment with their strategies.
  • Leverage your inquisitive nature and desire to learn.
  • Once reviews are complete, you leverage your communication skills to provide insights to the business on their processes and drive enhancements to their risk management practices.
  • Some engagements could involve travel in Europe (could be up to 15-20%), in respect of applicable travel policies.
  • Not a people management role (i.e. no direct reports).
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

  • As this is an entry level position, we are looking for an individual with no more than 5 years of experience in the financial sector audit / risk management, consulting, advanced analytics or a comparable field (e.
  • g., regulatory compliance).

  • Comfortable to work in an environment where you will be constantly challenged to develop both technical and soft skills
  • Master’s degree or equivalent - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Relevant professional designation (CIA, CRMA, GARP, CPA or equivalent), or firm commitment to earn designation rapidly (within 12 months).
  • Any additional relevant professional designation is considered as an advantage.

  • In-depth knowledge of investment management industry, in particular with regard to custody, fund administration and transfer agency
  • Nice-to-have

  • Experience in using data analytics as part of audit engagements
  • Fluency in French, Italian or German
  • Knowledge of and experience in risk management areas
  • Proven track record in leading small projects
