The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences.

People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.

The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society.

The FHSE offers four Bachelor and 15 Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.

The Research and Design specialist will work with an educational technology research team to support a study examining the competences (knowledge, skills & attitudes) of fundamental school teachers related to the strategic use of digital media and technologies in education.

The successful applicant will be affiliated with the Department of Education and Social Work, and its Institute for Teaching and Learning.

The candidate will be working in the field of educational technology and will contribute to the research activities led by Dr. Robert Reuter.

Your Role...

Under the direction of Dr. Robert Reuter, the successful candidate will :

  • Engage in empirical research targeted at examining educational technology competences (knowledge, skills & attitudes) of fundamental school teachers, including : Conduct literature review to support research on teachers’ educational technology competencesCollect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using surveys, interviews, and observationsTake responsibility for administrative tasks within the project
  • Prepare co-authored publications in English
  • Present research findings at international conferences
  • What we expect from you

    Desired candidates will have :

  • Completed Masters in educational sciences, educational technology, educational media or a related field
  • Experience supporting and conceptualizing research projects in educational sciences
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research approaches and data analyses
  • Experience with writing scientific reports
  • Knowledge of the Luxembourgish education system and the formal settings of education in fundamental schools
  • Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in at least one of the following : either Luxembourgish, German and / or French
  • A publication record that includes peer-reviewed publications in English will be considered an asset
