Onboard the satellites are collecting and downloading radio signals from over 80 thousand vessels that are moving 90% of the world's cargo around the globe.
The Maritime team at Spire is focused on taking that data and impacting the world in positive ways.
To expand the capabilities of our marketing team, we are looking for a curious, creative, digital marketer to join our Maritime business team.
You’ll start out by focusing on writing, producing, and distributing a wide variety of content, including research reports, newsletters, case studies, blogs, videos, and social posts.
Your creativity will help us expand our ability to do this work and to do it better than ever.
This role requires strong writing skills, a love of analytics, a technical attitude, and a desire to learn. From there as our success continues we will look to you to build out the full demand and nurture team and become a coach and leader for others joining Spire.
Responsibilities of your role :
The primary objective is to grow the Spire Sense Maritime business, with a primary focus of growing digital awareness and driving sales qualified opportunities
Build and manage a rich content / editorial calendar that attracts a qualified audience to our website (including articles, blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, outside content, etc.)
Constantly test, and assess, varying digital marketing channels and deliver trends, insights and recommendations on where we should increase investment (and where we shouldn’t) to key stakeholders
Create reports and white papers that educate our prospects and customers about opportunities to use our Satellite AIS based data products to enhance their business or solve problems.
Grow new leads by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and by working with others to optimize the customer experience
Plan, execute and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPI’s)
Re-purpose and expand all maritime content either your own or others (e.g., blogging, webinars, guest posts, interviews) to increase your content's distribution potential, search ranking, and discoverability.
Devise, create, and collaborate on social media campaigns to support the distribution of your content.
Design, build, launch and manage paid advertisement across channels
Optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels
Collaborate with product marketing, sales execs, and external influencers to produce content whose focus and topics meet the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.
Experience with outside vendors. You not only know how to manage vendors, you know when vendors are necessary (or not)
Qualifications / Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, statistics or English; MBA preferred. Relevant working experience also considered.
A minimum of 4 years digital marketing, product marketing and / or content marketing experience in e-commerce B2B or B2C companies.
Preferred candidate will have a strong desire to build, lead and manage teams.
The desire to learn the ropes of the maritime market, and then transition into a coaching role enabling us to scale our success.
Past experience producing content for the web, blogs, and PDF distribution.
High attention to detail and proven track record in assuming ownership, driving results and moving quickly to implement ideas in a fast-
paced online environment.
Demonstrable experience working with others to define and execute against an integrated digital marketing strategy.
A phenomenal ability to use the written word (writing) to educate, motivate, inspire and entertain.
A passion for data. Skilled at synthesizing insights and succinctly communicating results and derives intense satisfaction from developing logical, data-
Extensive practice leveraging Google Analytics. Extreme comfort with navigating reports, exporting data, defining customer reports and advance segments.
Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO / SEM, Email, social media, and an array of additional inbound marketing tactics to drive acquisition.
An innate ability to test, assess, and iterate constantly, with a particular focus on executing A / B and multivariate tests whenever possible.
Knowledge of marketing automation, CRM and other technology tools that will make our digital and inbound marketing efforts better and more efficient.
Deep experience and expertise in utilizing content marketing to drive awareness, traffic and engagement through the entire sales and marketing funnel.
Excellent common sense judgment. Ability to sell ideas across an organization, manage expectations with others and remain flexible in an ever-changing environment.
