The role represents a critical function with Amazon EU Operations to continuously improve the service levels, capacities, and costs of the EU Transportation Line Haul to ensure promises to the customers are being maintained.
Amazon is currently looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking Transportation Sourcing Manager to join the Transportation team at our European headquarters in the vibrant city of Luxembourg.
This role requires an ambitious individual. You will represent a critical function within our wider EU Operations, as we work to continuously improve service levels, capacities and costs of the EU Transportation Line Haul.
This will help us ensure promises to our valued customers are fulfilled every time.
Your responsibilities :
Role is designed to work collaboratively with the carrier managers to support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, through market research and systematic benchmark analysis, executing tendering and supplier screening / selection activities and gathering of market Intelligence.
Your duties will include but not limited to :
To support the capacity management team on the development and implementation of transportation sourcing strategies : such as Strategic Planning (capacity) and Contract Management (tendering)
To provide analytical support during the supplier screening, supplier selection and supplier management
To apply your expertise in the collection, analysis and management of quantitative data in the Transportation industry to support EU transportation team
To analyse the EU transportation market, cost drivers, perform cost benchmark , estimating costs for traffic lanes and compare rates to market trends over time
To support the transportation team to set targets for future negotiations and outline the key risks
To drive business improvements and compliance, while recommending cost reductions, cost avoidance
To Leverage transportation cost data to uncover any underlying process- or finance related issues
Work with data source providers and technology teams, ensuring that data is accurate, automated and delivered in a timely fashion
Bachelor’s or Master degree (or equivalent qualification), in Business, Economics, Logistics, Mathematics, or in a related field,
3+ years of Project Management experience in a related industry, Transportation or Supply Chain experience, preferably in a similar role, within a high-
volume logistics, manufacturing or engineering environment
Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality : you’re also able to support scoping of requirements and prioritise accordingly
You possess solid analytical skills and capabilities
Demonstrable financial acumen, familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, as well as in root cause data interpretation
Intermediate to advanced-level proficiency in Excel; you’re comfortable with macros, pivots, lookups and more
Knowledge of RFP platforms (TI, Coupa, others)
