Labour Legal and Labour Compliance Manager EMEA (m / f) oversees, manages and directs labour and employee relations within the region and provides prompt advice and coaching to (Senior) Management and local HR Managers to ensure legal compliance and legal labour consulting is provided in the EMEA region.
Role Overview : Provide legal support to the HR Community and promote awareness among HR community and Managers regarding social, labour and related legislations Actively manages and supports pre-
litigation and litigation cases in the EMEA region Ensures compliance with Gates policies related to labour matters Advise and coach (Senior) Management and HR Manager to ensure legal compliance of HR operations within the region Supports EMEA Management with functional expertise Ensure consistency in employment contracts throughout the region Assists and supports due diligence activities for mergers within the region, assists in the integration process within the group of acquired companies.
Support HRMs to maintain strong relationship with Employee Representatives (Unions, Work council, Health & safety Committee, Delegate employees) in the region.
Lead and support in negotiations with local works’ councils and union representative bodies if required.
Keep record of all applicable branch or industry and local collective agreements Manage and organize the European Employment Forum’ meeting Works closely together with the European C&B manager to review compensation and benefits policy via collective agreements or at the occasion of collective agreement renewals Interact with internal and external regulatory organizations and legal counsels.
Some travel (up to 20%) required.
Skills required : Must demonstrate and understand HR philosophy and in particular labour and employee relations Knowledge of and proficiency in applicable EMEA labour, social security and employment law Ability to support others as a team player and the ability to function in a self-
directed fashion Very good planning and decision making skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Confident negotiator Excellent verbal and written communication skills Fluent in English and French, any other language is an asset Strong computer and PC skills including MS Office and web based tools.
Master’s degree in law, and at least 5 years of direct experience in the field or in a related area dealing with multi-country labour law.
