The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance offers three Bachelor programmes, four Master programmes of Management and Economics and six Masters of Laws (LL.

M.), as well as several continuing education courses. It also includes the Doctoral School in Law and the Doctoral School in Economics and Finance.

    The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is recruiting a :

    Doctoral researcher (PhD student) in law

    A specialisation is foreseen in civil procedure

    Your Role

  • The doctoral researcher will be working within the Research Unit of Law. The doctoral researcher is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of civil procedure / international litigation.
  • Particular interest in comparative law and international litigation would be an asset.

  • The candidate’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of European / comparative civil procedure / international litigation under the supervision of Professor Séverine Menétrey.
  • The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be part of a jointly-supervised with another university.

  • Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
  • Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in private law / civil procedure / European / international litigation / Arbitration
  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment : fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage.
