AWS Global Business Operations (GBO) is seeking an experienced business analyst with a background in finance, incentive compensation, or revenue reconciliation.
The person in this role will partner with the local Sales Operations teams to operationalize best business practices and governance across sales revenue recognition, incentive compensation, and segmentation, with the goal of driving scalable business growth.
A successful candidate must be able to develop effective internal partnerships, solve problems, and use data to inform insights and drive business change.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Compensation Plan Support : Support administration of compensation plans (HRIS Data, Plan Setups, Quarterly Payouts, etc.
and assist with the distribution of individual compensation plans and reporting on attainment to target.
Issue Resolution : Vet and resolve issues escalated by Sales Operations related to revenue recognition, incentive compensation, and segmentation.
Process Improvement : Identify buckets of escalations from Sales Operations that are unnecessary and create mechanisms to eliminate or reduce these.
Document current processes and identify areas for automation and process improvement. Communicate feedback from Sales Operations to Global Business Operations teams.
Business Insights : Produce monthly business reviews for Sales Operations to provide transparency and drive better business practices and improved governance.
Retrieve and analyze data using Excel, Salesforce.com, OBIEE, and other data management / BI systems.
Planning : Advise Sales Operations on how to best operationalize sales organizational changes as they relate to sales revenue recognition, incentive compensation, and segmentation.
Run reports before territory planning and monthly revenue runs to identify best business practices.
Governance : Foster adoption of established policies, identify areas for policy improvement, and drive required policy changes.
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, accounting, or a related field
2+ years as a finance, compensation, or revenue reconciliation analyst
Strong Excel skills (Vlookup, pivot tables, report building)
Ability to source, work with, and combine multiple disparate data sets to answer business questions and isolate anomalies
Ability to influence both business and technical teams at all levels of the organization
Excellent verbal / written communication and presentation skills

Advanced Excel skills (macros)
Moderate to advanced HTML, Java
Experience writing SQL queries
Excellent working knowledge of SalesForce.com
Experience in a hi-tech sales organization
