This position provides global pre-sales technical leadership and an advanced level of support in the identification, creation, and integration of solutions and strategies within multiple complex solution areas.
They work with Sales to identify opportunities, providing technical subject-matter expertise and commercial sales support throughout the selling process, focusing on sales closures.
Incumbents serve as lead Solutions Engineering SME’s for multiple lines of business and / or product sets or solution areas.
They present as an industry expert at global trade shows for multiple solution areas. They present to customers on technical aspects and commercial terms for a majority of Company products, across all lines of business.
They work with Development and other business teams to respond to RFXs as needed. They liaise with product managers to provide feedback and input into business requirements for future products and releases, enhancements, or customized solutions.
As operational issues arise, they will bring them to the attention of Customer Support and Operations. They work with Product Management and R&D, and consult with customers, to identify customer needs and product gaps in the Company’s existing portfolio.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities : 60 %
Provide technical pre-sales subject matter expertise and sales support to global account teams throughout all stages of the sales cycle for multiple complex solution areas.
Develop and present to customers technical system solutions and associated sales proposals.
Act as the principal liaison on behalf of Sales with other parts of the organization regarding technical solutions associated with opportunities in multiple solution areas.
Lead in closing complex technical sales in multiple solution areas.
Provide frontline technical expertise in sales presentations, product demonstrations and system installations.
Define market requirements to Product teams, influencing product investment plans and roadmaps. 20 %
Responsible for helping to achieve and exceed sales targets across multiple solution areas.
Develop solution-specific Attack Plans for global customer segments.
Execute ongoing customer competitive analyses and market studies.
Assist Sales team as technical lead in pursuit of identified revenue opportunities. 10 %
Prepare and deliver presentations for multiple assigned product / subject areas at industry meetings, user groups and trade shows. 10 %
Participate in product teams and R&D efforts involving multiple solution areas to provide input concerning customer needs, market information and competitive insight. Job Requirements :
BA / BS degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Marketing (or equivalent job-related experience)
Sales or sales support experience desirable
Typically 5-10 years of general business experience including : o Developing and managing product portfolios; and / or o Proven success in organizational / technical leadership positions;
and / or o Telecommunications industry or related technology background
Expert technical subject-matter expertise in a wide range of solution areas and industry technologies
Strong leadership, analytical and organization skills
Strong understanding of financial principals and financial analysis skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Strong public speaking abilities Working Conditions :
