Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Network Planning and Implementation (NPI) team is responsible to optimize the middle mile transportation network utilizing sortation, linehaul and air channels to enable fast and reliable delivery for customers across Europe.

The team is looking for a highly-motivated, innovative, forward-thinking, detail-oriented, and customer-obsessed Senior Manager based in Amazon’s Luxembourg office to develop a best-in-class middle mile network for the European Marketplace.

As a Senior Manager, Network Planning in ATS NPI team, you will lead a team of high performing analysts and program managers that is responsible for :

  • Optimizing the middle mile network for customer experience, cost and speed.
  • Evaluation of business cases impacting the ATS network on the parameters of customer experience, cost and speed.
  • Leading the quarterly financial planning process from network planning standpoint.
  • Designing the middle mile network for key events such as Peak demand season and Prime Day.
  • Improving / automating the decision making and network audit process to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders within ATS team (Sort Centers, Line Haul, Amazon Air, Finance, Operations Research) and outside ATS team.
  • 8+ years of experience of working in a complex analytical environment preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics / Transportation Planning including 4+ years of experience of managing a high performing team.
  • Advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
  • Ability to mentor and instill a sense of urgency and diligence in the team.
  • Ability to navigate and be decisive in an environment of high ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Ability to work with and influence staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Occasional business travel will be required.
  • Candidate should have Masters in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics or similar field.
