The University of Luxembourg invites applications for the following position within the Centre for Childhood and Youth Research at the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences :

Research Associate on project for the Digital Documentation and Research Centre (DDRC) in Youth Research

The Digital Documentation and Research Centre at the University of Luxembourg aims to collect, systematize, and communicate research in the area of youth with a focus on Luxembourg.

The successful candidate(s) will contribute to the further development of the Digital Documentation and Research Centre in collaboration with researchers at the University of Luxembourg and in line with the digital publishing initiative at the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences.

The successful candidate(s) will join the group on Youth Research within the Department of Social Science’s Centre for Childhood and Youth Research, directed by Assoc.

Prof. Dr. Robin Samuel. The Centre for Childhood and Youth Research comprises a multidisciplinary and international research team that examines the conditions and opportunity structures of growing up against the backdrop of social change and inequalities.

Your Role

  • Systematic screening, collecting and digitalizing of grey literature from the areas of youth research, youth work as well as child and youth services in Luxembourg
  • Maintenance and further development of the youth research website
  • Creation of an English and / or French version of the website (currently in German)
  • Managing the electronic databases of the documentation centre
  • Ensuring the day-to-day handling of the documentation centre
  • Communicating research to the public (e.g., via social media)
  • Contribution to the digital publishing initiative at the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences

    Your Profile

  • Master diploma or MA in sociology, psychology, pedagogy or another relevant field
  • The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge in at least two of the three following languages : German, French and / or English.
  • Luxembourgish is an asset

  • Experience as a documentalist in the social sciences is an asset
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Willingness to engage in teamwork in research groups
