Your role in helping us shape the future :

Develop regional strategy and prioritize activities for Business Development. Responsible for leadership / management of a team of global business development advisors supporting our Asia and Americas regions, while personally identifying, developing and managing new and on-going strategic business development opportunities for Intelsat, in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

This support will be across Intelsat’s 4 quadrants of Business Development : Customers / Channels, Network Partners, Technology Partners, and Service / Solution Partners.

Responsibilities shall include both primary engagement with partners’ personnel and support to regional Intelsat sales ensuring the develop of significant levels of revenue opportunity.

This will be achieved by working on long term programs and ensuring that development opportunities which emerge are targeted and executed.

Responsible for developing and managing the relationship between the organization and potential partners / acquisition candidates by establishing and cultivating relationships with key individuals at target companies.

Hones a deep understanding of the organization’s strengths and recognize opportunities through careful market and competitive analysis.

Identifies and develops partner and end-user relationships as well as adapts opportunity strategies to changing conditions.

  • Identifies and develops new opportunities and partnerships across globally using an analytical and creative approach. These may take the form of partnerships, acquisitions, joint marketing agreements, sale / leaseback of assets, and development of key orbital assets.
  • Has full management and leadership responsibility for cross-functional teams in the identification and execution of strategic transactions.
  • This oversight includes both internal and external (banks, accounting firms, Legal) constituencies.

  • Identifies opportunities for business expansion and develops and manages relationships in strategic markets and accounts that further business development activity.
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing the market strategies, the deal requirements, and the financials as well as by examining risks and potentials.
  • Understand partners’ capabilities and market / customer positioning.

  • Works with marketing, sales and technology groups to implement business development strategy into specific initiatives
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with current and new customers
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Directs the identification and pursuit of new strategic relationships globally for all, or a major portion, of the organization.
  • Supports strategic development of new space and spectrum opportunities including evaluation, prioritization in liaison with innovation and spectrum strategy and provides input into the company's overall corporate strategy.
  • Proven record of success in building, bringing together, and leading a team of business development professionals to be successful in identifying, qualifying and closing enough deals to support Intelsat service growth plan.
  • Works closely with Sales to understand capacity and demand challenges in region and look for solutions in conjunction with Intelsat’s Strategic Sourcing team.
  • Customer / Partner visits which require domestic and international travel.
  • You should definitely have :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical or Business-related field, MBA is a plus
  • At least 15 years of experience in Business Development with a strong background in developing and executing on partnerships
  • Experience in operating within matrixed organizations, delivering results
  • Demonstrated experience in leading new business capture activities as well as experience in leading development proposals
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Specific experience in high-value, high-revenue, complex commercial and / or governement projects with senior management level relationships within nominated customer base.
  • Broad telecommunication / technology / spectrum and satellite knowledge
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in multiple disciplines with a wide range of culture differences.
  • Proven organizational skills and outstanding interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Must have initiative, a drive to succeed and a proactive approach to addressing client issues.
  • A solid base of business / finance knowledge to drive business cases and value creation
  • Ability to act as designee for Vice Presidents of Intelsat’s four business development quadrants.
  • Analyzes market data to identify opportunities and create 'out-of-the-box' growth initiatives.
  • Experience managing team of business professionals
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate a clear vision.
  • It would be nice if you had :

  • Experience working with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), technology companies (ex : modem / antenna development) and / or satellite operators / manufacturers
  • Experience in satellite communications or telecommunications sales
