Knowledge Lawyer in Global Financial Markets (m / f)
As a leading international law firm, Clifford Chance is seeking a highly motivated Knowledge Lawyer to oversee Knowledge activities within the Global Financial Markets (GFM) practice area, as well as coordinate Knowledge & Legal Training initiatives of the Luxembourg office.
With around 120 lawyers and 12 Partners, the Luxembourg Office of Clifford Chance is a respected player in the Luxembourg legal services market.
We are looking for a lawyer with prior experience in Banking and Finance law who can proactively bring value-add to the fee-earners of the practice / group by gathering and spreading knowledge and know-how.
Working alongside the transactional lawyers, the role will be expected to deliver on a variety of regular support activities, notably template libraries, document automation, regulatory watch, know-how management and training.
The successful applicant will report to Partners in charge of the GFM practice area. He / she will also liaise with the different people within the network and within the Luxembourg office in charge of Knowledge Management, to maximise the use of Clifford Chance global resources and share best practices.
Contract : permanent contract (CDI)
Template library and automation
Maintain and enhance the template library (e.g., prospectuses, articles of incorporation, standard clauses / wordings) in English, French and German;
Identify areas of development / missing documents and organise the creation of new templates;
Contribute to Clifford Chance's Best Delivery initiatives ensuring that the various template automation projects move forward at a quick pace;
Update of knowledge platforms, monitoring databases, gathering and indexing information and documents.
Coordinate and actively contribute to the drafting of publications;
Prepare communications to clients to disseminate Clifford Chance expertise and knowledge;
Maintain the GFM group intranet page and gather memoranda, precedents, templates, etc.
Training Learning and development
Contribute to junior lawyer education program groups;
Gather and disseminate know-how of the department;
Coordinate internal and external deal announcements;
Organize regular internal meetings and conferences to share practices and knowledge;
Produce lists of credentials for pitches and submission to legal directories.
Local and global initiatives Project management relating to KM initiatives
Ensure coordination and alignment of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office and across the firm;
Actively participate in any local and global initiative in terms of Knowledge Management.
Education and Experience
An excellent academic background in law;
At least 2 years' experience as a transactional lawyer or in a professional support lawyer role in the GFM practice area;
Experience in the drafting, publication and dissemination of articles;
Proven track record of conferences and training organisation;
A strong set of project management skills;
An interest in and high-level experience of the banking and finance law areas;
Client communication experience.
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently and to drive projects and initiatives until completion;
Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
Good analytical and research skills;
Enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude with pragmatic and hands-on approach;
Demonstrated service orientation;
Project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines;
High level of accuracy and attention to detail and meticulous follow-through;
Ability to work as part of a team and with lawyers of all levels of seniority.
Language and IT skills
Fluent in English and French. German and / or Luxembourgish would be considered as an asset;
Strong command of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
Experience in using knowledge management tools and software will be considered as plus.
