We are looking for a Freight Settlement Specialist to strengthen our team in Contern.
Your Role
The Freight Settlement Specialist will be in charge of the client billing and supplier invoice validation process. The position will report to the Operations Team Lead or Operations Manager, with close working relationships across the whole business including the Finance team, Business Management, Service Implementation and Business Systems Support.
Your Responsibilities
Act as a single point of contact for external & internal customers, for all finance related topics
Ensure correct cost allocation as per customer requirements
Ensure accurate billing throughout the entire global billing cycle and monitor cash flow by securing in-time payments
Ensure proper month end closure of customer accounts
Resolve billing queries by using your knowledge as a subject matter expert to dive into financial results and provide root cause analysis
Evaluate actual expenses and clarify deviations with relevant stakeholders
Validate financial results to provide data transparency to the business units
Monitor KPIs of freight auditing results, on-time billing, billing accuracy, etc.
Prepare financial reports on logistics key indicators (e.g. turnover, volumes, freight expenses and savings) relevant for the business to provide data transparency and support the decision making process
Financial risk assessment(e.g. currency fluctuations) on different businesses and financial results
Provide special financial analysis on request of business management and provide financial report and input to stakeholders.
Your Skills and Experiences
At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a similar field of activity - Preferably formal education in finance and / or logistics
Advanced knowledge of MS Office especially MS Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
Knowledge of VBA and / or SQL is a plus
Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis and problem solving
Customer-centric and solution oriented mindset
Ability to fulfill time-critical tasks on time and keep schedules and deadlines
Strong communication and presentation skills (MS PowerPoint advanced level)
Fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of one additional language is an asset
Strong affinity with required customer quality standards as well as general quality standards (such as QSHE or GXP)
