In this new role, we are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Manager to lead our AML / KYC Operations Team.

In this multifaceted role you will support the European sales team in the onboarding of new clients (Distributors, Intermediary, Institutional clients).

You will review KYC files and AML procedures and assess regulatory issues in terms of AML requirements including client / investor account opening, names screening, customer and / or Distributor Due Diligence, etc.

You will perform gap analyses and identify AML and / or Compliance / Regulatory issues compared to the laws and regulations in force.

You will actively watch market developments, propose required changes and coach the team. You will develop strong technical / industry knowledge of key business processes such as customer / investor account opening, on-going due diligence measures.

  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) research for customers, as part of the group-wide Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF) policies and procedures
  • Analyse customer information and documents according to the prescribed internal policies and procedures
  • Complete the necessary workflow tasks in the Customer Due Diligence Repository ( CDDR system) during the customer onboarding process and periodic reviews in a timely manner
  • Capture the necessary information according to the global standard and jurisdictional requirements against the customer’s KYC profile based on the calculated KYC due diligence level simplified, standard, or enhanced
  • Execute and review sanctions, PEPs and adverse media alerts from customer screening during the customer onboarding process and escalate where necessary
  • Package the Customer Due Diligence research and documentation (the KYC profile ) for review by the Client Account Management
  • Meet production target volumes and dates as advised
  • Communicate with Compliance, the Business and other employees as required to complete the Customer Due Diligence process
  • Participate in various cross-functional projects
  • Work closely with Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit and other business teams on BAU (Business as usual) and new AML requirements
  • Ensure all activities are in line with AllianzGI Procedures
  • Take ownership of complex AML matters and provide guidance and support to the team.
  • At least 7 years of related experience in undertaking AML / KYC reviews within a financial institution
  • At least 7 years of related knowledge of AML, regulatory compliance and controls within the financial services industry
  • Excellent English and French, verbal and written. Knowledge of German, Italian or Spanish as additional language would be beneficial
  • Proven problem-solving skills paired with project management skills as well as the ability to multi-task and handle deadlines without supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships, internally and externally, in a global business environment
  • Excellent research, analytical and communication skills
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task
  • Ability to work professionally with all levels of staff and management
  • Strong teamwork, organisational, complex problem resolution and initiative
  • Sound judgment, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Edge. Knowing the CDDR Software Fenergo is considered as an asset.
