Accountable to PEUSA’s Head of Market Infrastructure & Derivatives (MI&D), as the successful candidate you will contribute to the local implementation of the EU strategy, in line with the strategy defined at Group level by the Group Market Infrastructure Committee, regarding EU market infrastructure and derivatives related regulations compliance(e.
g. EMIR, MiFIR, SFTR, CSDR, etc.). You will serve as MI&D subject matter expert for PEUSA.
As PEUSA’s trading capacity and book develops, you will also be responsible for developing the relevant counterparty risk frameworks to cover risks resulting from Pictet Trading Services activities (i.
e. mainly facilitating market access and best execution for clients) and Treasury activities. This oversight will be carried out by developing appropriate controls and related risk tolerance parameters for the Bank and will be supported by a proportionate set of risk metrics and management reports.
Your role will also involve leading local projects, participating in Group projects (process reengineering, clearing, margining, trade and transaction reporting, regulatory, risk and control, etc.
coordinating existing initiatives or workgroups (e.g. regulatory inquiries, client mailing, etc.).
Supporting PEUSA’s Head of MI&D and peers across the Group, in ensuring proper operational implementation and efficient second level oversight of all MID related topics.
Ensuring that local and Group MID new developments and rules, are appropriately communicated to impacted business lines and concerned corporate functions within PEUSA and its branches.
Performing regulatory watch and impact analysis stemming from EU regulatory requirements, in cooperation with local and Group functions.
Continuously building up knowledge and competence in this area and ensuring building network with peers in industry (working groups, etc.)
Translating market infrastructure-related regulatory obligations into actionable implementation requirements for the business, including IT specifications in cooperation with IT Busines Analysts and overlooking the implementation process with the various stakeholders to ensure that what is implemented is fit for purpose.
Identifying, assessing and proposing a mitigation plan for risks identified during implementation work, such as operational / financial / regulatory topics related to MI&D, and assisting with implementation of the internal control system (ICS).
Strengthening the MI&D risk framework, including risk metrics and risk tolerance parameters and related ICS for the Bank.
Supporting the development of an appropriate counterparty-risk framework, including risk metrics and risk tolerance parameters and related ICS for the Bank.
Ensuring relevant Level 1 controls are in place, duly performed and followed up with remedial actions when necessary by running Level 2 controls, escalating and proposing relevant mitigation / resolution for MI&D and counterparty risk related items
Ensuring that the Bank’s counterparty risk-management framework (especially regarding derivatives exposures) and market infrastructure-related requirements are adequate, proportionate and well integrated in the ICAAP, ILAAP & Recovery Plan processes.
Participating in responding to queries from regulators and perform / review related necessary underlying analysis to ensure factual, timely and appropriate answers
University degree (under / postgraduate) in Finance, Economics and / or Risk Management.
Five to ten years’ experience in banking / the finance industry (audit or advisory firm) required
Strong working knowledge of the regulatory environment with a proven ability to translate complex regulatory obligations into functional requirements.
Able to understand derivatives workflows (OTC and ETD) and SFTs (SLB, Repo, etc.), including clearing, account onboarding, platforms and clearing broker relationships.
Proven experience in managing market infrastructure-related projects and / or implementation of set-ups involving OTC / ETDs, third parties such as clearing brokers, exchanges, etc.
Prior experience in developing risk or MID frameworks (trading setups etc.) for market activities.
Prior experience in dealing with regulators / authorities (CSSF, ECB etc.) would be a plus.
Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Able to define high-level specifications to prepare IT developments / data queries.
Strong written and verbal communication in English plus French or German
