The PhD student will perform research on recent and historical (IBA) typologies of (transboundary) communal living. He / she will also assist in conducting the research-by-design atelier, both as designer and assistant to the students and interns.
The link between public policy makers and spatial design will be a leading concept for the research. In the frame of Esch Cultural Capital 2022, a first exhibit of the research will be presented.
The output consists of thorough IBA analysis (both architecturally and policy-oriented), the build-up of a typological Atlas (historical and prospective) and real-time research by design on concrete Alzette-Belval cases.
