PRIVATE EQUITY FUND ACCOUNTANT (M / F) The individual will be seeking an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, financial services business with the desire to progress and learn new skills.


Reporting into the Head of Fund Accounting / Senior Fund Accountant (who are based in London), the candidate will have the following key responsibilities :

Financial reporting / bookkeeping :

  • Preparing the quarterly and annual financial statements of the funds
  • Preparing quarterly investor reporting (capital account / ILPA fee reporting)
  • Posting day to day transactions using the Accounting Software for the funds
  • Understanding and familiarisation of financial statements prepared in accordance with the relevant GAAPs (UK, US, LUX) and IFRS
  • Fund / Investor reporting :

  • Preparing capital call (drawdown) and distributions notices
  • Dealing and corresponding with investors in relation to issues and queries
  • Understanding of and familiarisation with the relevant Limited Partnership Agreements and other key legal documentation
  • Other :

  • Maintaining the treasury function and the liquidity of each fund
  • Liaising with external fund administrators, maintaining relationships with the independent auditors and other external advisors
  • Collating relevant backing documentation for annual audit and tax reporting (UK / US tax)
  • Working closely with other internal teams - Investor Relations, Monitoring (valuations), Legal and other finance departments
  • Familiarisation of regulatory reporting requirements ( CSSF, FCA)
  • Ad-hoc projects will arise to ensure continual development of systems and practices

  • Strong academic qualifications, including a degree (or equivalent)
  • Accounting qualification or part way through qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge or background in financial services and private equity sector advantageous
  • Languages - English (essential) and other languages ( French) advantageous
  • Competence in using Excel is essential ( pivot tables, vlookups, SUMIF etc.)
  • Exposure to accounting software (Investran, MS NAV is advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong aptitude and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Operates in an organised and structured manner with attention to detail
  • Remains flexible and demonstrates ability to prioritise workload - meets required timeframes and delivers on reporting deadlines
  • The candidate will be required to quickly and pro-actively build effective working relationships with other team members, other teams, and key third-party service providers
  • They are expected to demonstrate a team player attitude to willingly undertake a wide range of activities and responsibilities as required
  • The candidate will be a problem solver, have experience in completing general reconciliations and can work independently with limited supervision
