Position Summary
The Automation Engineer will be responsible to automate test procedures as part of the system test & validation group, This comprises the analysis of existing system test case designs, the script creation for different test benches, the analysis of the test results and the reporting of deficiencies according to a test defect handling process.
Teamwork with test case design & test engineers, system and software engineers as well as project management is a must.
Technical interest in hardware, software and systems as well as the ability to work with automation and instrumentation tools in an automotive environment will be a prerequisite to pursue a multi-disciplinary career at Borg Warner.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
Responsible for developing test automation scripts
Responsible to perform automated system tests, perform analysis, document test results and report issues
Participate in Peer Reviews for test case design approval or automation script acceptance
Provide proposals to improve bench definition / configuration required for testing
Job Requirements And Qualifications
Education And Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
BS in Engineering or related science discipline required. MS degree in electrical engineering or related preferred.
Excellent English skills
Good communication, positive attitude, conscientious and highly motivated person
3 or more years of experience as Systems engineer and / or Systems / SW Test engineer
Experience in scripting for test case automation and working with different test environments (open and / or closed loop)
Awareness of high voltage safety standards and procedures
Fundamentals of automotive bus communication (CAN / CAN FD / Flexray)
Familiarity with test instrumentation systems like Vector CANape or ETAS Inca
Experience with requirement management tool (e.g. Polarion)
Knowledge of V-cycle development processes and agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM
Understanding of Automotive Spice and different Test Levels
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Highly Appreciated
Experience with test environments from dSPACE or National Instruments (Labview)
Experience with CAN restbus simulation systems (e.g. CANoe / CAPL scripts)
Experience with Python and / or Tracetronic EcuTest / TraceAnalysis automation
Experience with instrumentation systems like Vector CANalyzer, Vector CANape or ETAS INCA
