EMEA Compliance is looking for a Senior Manager with strong operational knowledge, analytical and communication capabilities, and a hands-
on passion to dive-deep into processes to support Amazon’s growth in a safe environment for customers, partners and associates and retail teams.
This Senior Manager will be responsible for Dangerous Goods (DG) Transportation Operations for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), working across Customer fulfillment, transportation services, delivery experience, technology, legal, public policy and consumer teams.
Moreover, the Senior Manager will have a dotted reporting line to manage Storage safety and compliance in the region.
Leading a team of risk managers, this Senior Manager will ensure the safety of our Customers, associates and carrier partners by delivering innovative solutions for the safe and compliant transportation and storage of DG, redefining industry best practices and standards, and safely enabling an ever-
changing borderless business model(s).
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work across senior levels of leadership in multiple organizations to align on policy and proposed controls, as well as deliver at a high bar for quality.
This Senior Manager will demonstrate excellent judgment and instincts in decision-making and proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon’s business, its platform, and relevant technologies.
Key responsibilities :
Manages people and hires and develops the best.
Actively partners with Legal and business teams to interpret and define compliance obligations for the business.
Supports scalable solutions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
Engages, across organisations, with leadership to design compliance controls, best-in-class processes and systems, and drives continual improvement.
Makes recommendations to senior management on opportunities for organisational and business-level risk mitigation regarding compliance.
Maintains subject matter expertise and current industry knowledge to advise senior leadership on emerging trends, regulatory requirements and on impact to business strategic roadmap.
Earns trust of business partners by proactively engaging in order to understand business plans and providing support aligned with the business roadmap and deliverables.
Builds and maintains strategic relationships with regulators and industry trade bodies.
7+ years experience managing a team of 5 or more direct reports
5+ years experience with a track record of project deliverables in the regulatory compliance space where improvement is measurable
Experience driving process improvement with technology
Ability to travel internationally
MBA or advanced degree
In-depth knowledge and practical skills in applying Lean Six Sigma (LSS) philosophy and methodology
7 years of experience in a regulatory compliance environment, preferably retailer experience in a high-volume environment
Accomplished range of skills from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Ability to work independently and autonomously
Bilingual or trilingual
