It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination and societal engagement with history.

Your Role...

The Postdoc will be a member of the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) at the University of Luxembourg.

He / she will work under supervision of Ass-Prof. Dr. Denis Scuto.


Realisation of a study on the history of the Chambre des Salariés Luxembourg (CSL) as a postdoctoral researcher. The CSL’s and its predecessor institutions’ history goes back to 1924.

Writing its history means dealing with history of social relations, labor history, working conditions, working conditions, social inequalities on a national and transnational level.


  • Do research and write a publication about the history of the Chambre des Salariés Luxembourg (1924-2024) and an article about history of social inequalities in Luxembourg
  • Collect and review literature and archival sources
  • Coordinate and supervise the data retrieval
  • Active engagement in the cooperation between C2DH and CSL
  • Organise an international workshop and a ForumZ
  • Contribute to research in the field of Contemporary History of Luxembourg
  • What we expect from you

  • PhD in Contemporary History
  • Research profile in the field of Contemporary History with a specialization in social and economic history or related field
  • Excellent command of the following languages : German, English, French
  • Good digital literacy
