The Operation Finance Inventory Placement Team ensures the efficient inventory placement across Amazon’s Fulfillment Centres to drive the most optimal experience for our end customers.
This person will work with stakeholders in EU (Supply Chain, Fulfilment Centres) and NA (Software development teams) to recommend process and system improvements involving Inventory Placement.
We are looking for a passionate, analytical and technical person who will relentlessly dive deep, improving the accuracy and efficiency of the placement algorithms.
An analyst will be expected to influence network level strategic decisions through partnering with senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess both an technical background that enables them to understand our systems / algorithms and demonstrate the ability to think broadly and strategically about operational initiatives.
They will experience a wide range of problem solving situations, requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis.
Responsibilities include : Reporting of the different programs involved in Inventory Placement Partner with supply chain teams to drive process efficiencies leading to cost savings Partner with software development teams and supply chain teams to drive changes to our systems / algorithms Partner with FP&A teams to ensure right cost allocation around inventory placement initiatives Analysing and solving business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-
looking opportunities Interacting with and influencing business and finance customers to drive decision making Communicating complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing BASIC QUALIFICATIONS A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams Strong sense of ownership and customer obsession Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and an ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems Advanced Excel skills Ability to apply basic statistical techniques (e.g.
hypothesis testing) Ability to deal with ambiguity PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience utilizing SQL / VBA / Python or R Experience with performance metrics Direct experience in quantitative research or analyses Master’s degree (Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field) Experience in Operations, Supply Chain Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
