Your Role

This is a fully funded PhD position for 3 years (extendable to an additional 4th year). The successful candidate will join the 360Lab, led by Prof.

Raphaël Frank and part of the SEDAN Research Group.

The 360Lab, is the first thematic research laboratory focusing on smart mobility. The purpose of the 360Lab is to serve as an umbrella for research projects sharing common equipment and complementary expertise to conduct strategic and collaborative research in the broader area of mobility innovation.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to : Autonomous Systems, V2X Communications, Artificial Intelligence for Automated Mobility, Security and Resilience of Automotive Systems, Sensing Technologies, Mobility Modeling and Simulation, and Transportation Planning.

The successful candidates will carry out research to pursue a PhD on the following topics :

  • Vehicular Communications
  • Cooperative Driving
  • Edge Computing
  • The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks :

  • Carrying out research in the predefined areas
  • Disseminating research results through scientific publications
  • Participating in proposal drafting
  • Assisting in organization of relevant events
  • Your Profile

  • The candidate should possess a Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical / Computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Knowledge and skills in one or more of the following topics :
  • Mobile / Vehicular Communications
  • Distributed computer systems
  • Cloud / Edge computing
  • Machine Learning
  • Strong analytical and programming skills, especially in Python and C / C++
  • A good knowledge of statistics and probability
  • A good understanding of Vehicular Sensor Technologies (Camera, LiDAR, Radar, etc.)
  • Curiosity driven, willing to constantly learn new things
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required
