The Manager of Sales and European Engagement is in charge of global payload and corporate partnership sales while also enhancing ispace’s relationships with governments and space agencies in the EU, and expanding its business possibilities through government programs, commercial consortiums, and other projects.

The successful candidate will be capable of taking initiative and finding innovative solutions a in a technical and political environment.

Candidates should possess a proven record of effectively communicating, managing relationships, and leverage his / her network to close sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying new business revenue opportunities, understanding client requirements and customising the offer as per their needs to ensure revenue growth in payload, partnership, and data sales
  • Driving buying decisions of VP, Director, and C-Level executives through convincing presentations and messaging and ensuring follow up activities, price and contract negotiations to close new business
  • Develop a sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Coordinating with colleagues from other competence areas within ispace to ensure coherent communication and technical soundness of commercial offer
  • Developing and implementing ispace’s Global Relations and European Policy Strategy to promote and create business opportunities in the EU and other countries
  • Opening direct communication channels with officials of the government and space agencies in the EU and other countries to discuss their current space policy, collect information on their programmes, and constructing policies that promote space resources development
  • Lead Luxembourg Space Agency, European Space Agency, Horizon 2020 and other proposals
  • Work with governments, organizations, and agencies to source or create mechanism for new funds or grants specifically for lunar exploration
  • Drafting documents, briefs, policy, and other documents that will educate and assist management in decision making.
  • Key Skills

  • 10 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales or related domains
  • A successfully completed commercial or technical degree
  • A large business network
  • A proven capability in closing sales and managing international teams
  • Broad technical understanding, including space technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Other languages a benefit (German / French / Japanese)
  • Experienced handling of MS Office applications, especially Excel and PPT
  • Independent, structured and result-oriented way of working
  • Open-minded and committed personality with a passion for teamwork
