The University of Luxembourg invites applications to the following vacancy in the Department of Computer Science () within its Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine :
Doctoral Candidate (PhD student) in the area of Artificial Intelligence in legal applications*
The successful candidates will join a strong and motivated research team lead by Prof. Yves Le Traon in order to carry out research in order to pursue a PhD on the following topic : Testing Artificial Intelligence fairness and robustness in legal applications.
The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks :
Carry out research in the predefined areas
Disseminate results through scientific publications
Participate in proposal drafting
Assist in the organization of relevant workshops
Qualification : * The candidate should possess an MSc degree or equivalent in Informatics, Computer Science or an equivalent engineering degree.
Experience : * The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and experience in a number of the following topics :
and be familiar with the principles of
Law and ethics
Strong programming skills are required.
Language Skills : Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.

A fixed-term 3 years contract on full time basis (40hrs / week), renewable up to 4 years pending satisfaction of progress milestones.
