Investment Bank Middle Office (IBMO) is a global function withinBarclays providing transaction management and settlement services across allasset classes to the businesses.
Middle Office is non-revenue producing but isessential to managing risk and ensuring that transactions are executedcorrectly.
They are considered an essential part of a company's infrastructure.
Overall Purpose ofRole
The role holder will provide control and oversight functions to theEquity Financing, Strategic Transaction Group, Structured Financing andStrategic Investments businesses.
In addition to this, the team partner withthe businesses to develop robust and scalable operational support models forbespoke Financing trade strategies.
Structures typically traded by thisbusiness are complex and span multiple asset classes (including Equity + FixedIncome Securities, Derivatives, FX, Credit and direct capital investments) and operationalfunctions.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The role holder must possess a desire to learn and apply theirknowledge to complex operational issues. The role holder should have a logicalapproach when presented with such queries and be able to escalate whennecessary and seek support, if needed, to ensure swift resolution of issues ifthey arise.
Risk andControl Objective
Ensureall activities and duties are carried out in full compliance withregulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internalBarclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Qualification / Education Preferred :
2.1 Degree or equivalentqualification
Previous experience in a similarrole
Strong Product Knowledge acrossFixed Income, Derivatives, FX and Credit asset classes (Equity knowledge alsopreferable)
Previous experience ofautonomously driving change within their role, streamlining processes toincrease control and capacity
Previous active involvement instrategic IT projects providing requirements, challenging solutions,coordinating and conducting UAT testing
Strong track record of executionand results, high level of drive to meet deadlines and targets.
Middle orBack Office experience
