Job summary

Amazon’s HR Global Content Team is responsible for creating and managing highly digestible employment content that's easy to find and use.

We are a fun and diverse team with members in several different countries. We help to enable employee self-sufficiency by providing content for employee self-service tools and platforms that is simple, intuitive, and personalized.

We work closely with UX teams and leverage analytics to better understand customer journeys and satisfaction when interacting with content.

The HR Global Content team is looking for a hands-on content professional to develop and execute strategies that drive improvement to content quality, maintenance, and user experience.

This role will lead a team of writers and editors regionally that work with global stakeholders to understand the business priorities necessary to ensure consistency of style and quality across multiple content types.

The role will drive content projects from initial strategy to implementation and post-launch optimization through effective people management.

A successful candidate must be a self-starter who demonstrates the ability to lead medium to large sized projects, all while working in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to optimize standard work, develop innovative strategies, and influence technical solutions, will be critical deliverables in this role.

Efforts and innovation should be data-driven, and informed by the most effective principles of content strategy, knowledge management, and user-experience as well as by Amazon’s core competencies.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and lead exceptional strategies using clear, concise, visually appealing, and user-focused content, including influencing technical requirements, where required.
  • Inspire authors and editors to deliver their best work in support of our business goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve content development processes and tools, and drive team improvements autonomously.
  • Use a combination of data analysis, user research, benchmarking, and content audits to make content decisions and orchestrate proactive content development.
  • Use project management skills to support business change, ensuring content meets a high bar for quality and is delivered on time.
  • Use superior writing skills and extraordinary attention to detail to influence and evangelize global and regional content standards.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to ensure policies and standard operating processes are implemented.

  • 5+ years of related professional experience
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Professional writing experience
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style and / or other style guides
  • Experience using global enterprise content management systems

  • UX design experience
  • Translation and localization knowledge and / or experience
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, technical environment
