Amazon is looking for a Senior Policy Communications Manager to support its business across Europe. We are looking for an experienced communications specialist who will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high-judgement, self-motivated communications professional. The Senior Policy Communications Manager will be responsible for working on initiatives which support Amazon's European policy objectives and be a key team member of the EMEA issues management team.

The role could be based in a number of locations, including Brussels, Luxembourg, London or Munich.

Working closely with other members of the corporate communications and public policy teams, the successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing European policy issues, and a strong knowledge of European public affairs.

Media relations experience is essential.

Key tasks will include :

  • Working in close collaboration with internal teams, notably in Brussels and in European capitals
  • Issues management and development of initiatives in support of Amazon’s European policy goals
  • Developing messaging and speaking points for external communications opportunities
  • Effectively representing Amazon as a spokesperson
  • Building excellent relationships with the public affairs community and media
  • Aligning with the EMEA and the US communications and PP teams to ensure company-wide policy communications
  • Creating and maintaining both reactive and proactive communication materials
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years media relations and public affairs experience
  • Excellent understanding of European public affairs and media landscape, and strong relationships across European media
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exercises high judgement, particularly in narrow time frames
  • Excellent communications skills in English (oral and writing)
  • Enjoys working with international business and PR teams
  • Able to multitask and prioritise own workload
  • A team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal stakeholder teams
  • Develops creative, effective approaches to varied communications challenges
  • Possesses outstanding attention to detail and relentlessly high standards
  • Thinks strategically, but stays on top of tactical execution
  • Ensures an integrated communications approach, considering all audiences and communications channels
  • Thinks big and has convictions
  • Is action and results-oriented
  • Has the ability to find simplicity in complexity
