What is the opportunity?

In this role, the Director, Statutory & Regulatory Financial Planning & Reporting will be an integral member of the team of the Chief Financial Officer of RBC IS Bank S.

A. The incumbent will be accountable to provide 1) all RBC Group, Statutory and Regulatory reporting and 2) accurate, complete, relevant, understandable results and forecast / budget information which shall enable the Authorized Management and the Board to closely monitor the developments in the financial situation and outlook of the institution.

Leading a team of 10+ people, and executing on these 2 critical responsibilities for a Bank with 1.1T EUR AUA and 2500 FTEs.

What will you do?

  • Consolidate and report on RBC IS Bank S.A. and its branches and subsidiaries’ financial results through the annual / quarterly / monthly financial closes,
  • Complete of all the Statutory and Regulatory reporting to the different stakeholders such as Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Commission de Supervision du Secteur Financier (CSSF), Banque Centrale du Luxembourg (BCL), European Central Bank (ECB), Single Resolution Board (SRB) amongst others,
  • Provide timely and insightful consolidated Bank statutory financial results reporting, analysis and forecasting for the Authorized Management and Board of Directors of the Bank and various Operating Committees, as required,
  • Engage periodically with local Authorized Management to discuss past results and financial forecasts and budgets for the Bank to ensure that the Bank remains viable and profitable,
  • Monitor progress of key decisions, projects and / or business events that will impact financial results across the Bank and subsidiaries & branches to provide a monthly financial forecast to the Chief Financial Officer & Authorized Management of the Bank,
  • Own regulatory requests on the statutory results for the Bank in the scope of the ongoing annual Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP) requests and reviews conducted by the JST, and support the Funding, Liquidity, Capital planning, ICAAP, ILAAP and Stress Testing exercises,
  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with all Authorized Managers, Executive Committee members, and Global business and functional partners, and
  • Lead, coach and train a team 10+ heads through the month / quarter / annual closings, statutory and regulatory reporting and forecasting cycles, as well as indirectly influence 80+ Financial Control, Reporting, Planning resources across 10 jurisdictions.
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have

  • Post-secondary degree business administration degree, with a major in finance or accounting. Finance designation (CIMA, CFA or international equivalent) an asset,
  • 10-15 years of various roles in Finance (Controlling, Reporting, FP&A, Performance Management, Treasury ) with proven leadership and communication skills,
  • Familiarity with the asset servicing industry (custody, fund accounting, shareholder services / transfer agency, etc) and banking institutions would be an asset,
  • Excellent critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to understand complex issues as it applies to financial reporting and forecasting for financial services institutions,
  • Ability to work and lead independently under pressure, and influence senior leaders directly and indirectly across the organization,
  • Fluent in English; French and / or German an asset
  • Nice-to-have

  • Strong IT skills including SAP / Hana, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
