Our client is a joint venture between a global vehicle brand and an internationally renowned insurance giant. The JV has a global footprint offering both insurance and financial services to both retail and trade partners.

The firm’s European headquarters were established in Luxembourg in 2019 and have since grown into a robust team of functional specialists.

This is a fully authorized (CAA) entity. With a strong corporate culture and talented and visible leadership team. An opportunity has arisen for a talented and capable compliance professional to join the local management team with the mandate to oversee all regulatory compliance obligations and to build a cooperative and productive relationship with the CAA.

Given the high visibly of the role, this role requires a curious and relationship orientated collaborator. You will be highly motivated to take a new challenge, you will want to own’ your mandate entirely and will have the capacity to continue to grow personally and professional as the organisation evolves.

This opportunity is earmarked as a key function holder that will primed for future leadership of the organisation. CONTEXT :

  • Oversee and monitor all aspects of the entities Compliance management and control.
  • Day-to-day responsibility for the firms Luxembourg Compliance and interaction with Group Compliance function.
  • Key judgements discussed with the Chief Executive Officer, Dirigeant Agree and Board as appropriate and reported to the Group Head of Compliance.
  • Day to day legal and compliance operations including maintaining contact with regulators, authorities etc.
  • Day to day administration of legal and compliance matters of the firms Luxembourg head office.
  • THE MANDATE : Will include, but are not limited to, working in accordance with both regulations and Group policies and procedures to : Compliance :

  • Establish and own the Luxembourg Compliance Policies and Plans
  • Advise Luxembourg Board and Management on compliance with laws and
  • regulation
  • Coordinates and responds to regulatory requirements and requests
  • Provides Compliance input on business action plans and operations
  • Use experience and expertise to challenge the firm’s Luxembourg and Group management effectively and constructively regarding the impact on regulatory risk of business decisions
  • Support embedding of Compliance management in business decision making at a Luxembourg and Group level
  • Responsibility for Conflicts Policy and conflict management in Luxembourg
  • Business Partnering

  • Develop and enhance regular reporting to support the business in relation to Compliance
  • matters, including the management of controls
  • Liaise with the Group and representatives of ultimate shareholders to explain effectiveness
  • of regulatory compliance in Luxembourg
  • Initiate original analysis and provide constructive challenge to help the Group remain
  • compliant and aligned and compliant with the agreed Risk Management Strategy and Framework
  • Regular interaction and communications with Committees and management to assess the management of regulatory risk, including developing an opinion on the effectiveness of Branch Compliance functions
  • Management

  • Influence and motivate the Luxembourg business, ensuring required levels of competence are achieved and built upon
  • Assist Dirigeant Agree with efficient operations in the Luxembourg office
  • Work effectively with Group Compliance function, providing support where appropriate
  • Fulfil tasks of company secretary where necessary and required namely oorganisation, filing and archiving of documents etc.
  • related to the business and operations as well it’s boards and committees.


  • An experienced compliance officer or specialist; ideally experienced in the context of the of the insurance industry, banking or an advisory capacity (big-4)
  • There is a strong preference that the incumbent will have at least a good context of the drivers of the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of European financial services including a local regulator’s approach to regulation within the wider FiSer industry.
  • Possessing a mature outlook and the capacity to carry responsivity with ease proven leadership capacity should be demonstrable
  • Ambitious, determined, and open minded to taking on a broad and challenging mandate
  • Eagerness to go the extra mile, motivated and willing to move with shifting demands
  • Positive and effective communication shills
  • Strong organizational skills an eye for detail and structure
  • Hands on and flexible one team effort
  • English and French are essential advanced in all forms
