Amazon is currently looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking Transportation Manager to join the team. The role represents a critical function with Amazon EU Operations to continuously improve the service levels, capacities and costs of the EU Transportation Line Haul to ensure promises to the customers are being maintained.
Your responsibilities :
Role is designed to work collaboratively with the carrier managers to support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, through market research and systematic benchmark analysis, executing tendering and supplier screening / selection activities and gathering of market Intelligence.
Your duties will include but not limited to :
Leverage transportation cost data to uncover any underlying process- or finance related issues
Drive business improvements and compliance, while recommending cost reductions, cost avoidance
Work on the development and implementation of transportation sourcing strategies : such as Strategic Planning (capacity) and Contract Management (tendering)
Provide analytical insight during the supplier screening, supplier selection and supplier management
Analysis and manage quantitative data in the Transportation industry to support EU transportation team
Support the transportation team to set targets for future negotiations and outline the key risks
Analyse the EU transportation market, cost drivers, perform cost benchmark , estimating costs for traffic lanes and compare rates to market trends over time
Work with data source providers and technology teams, ensuring that data is accurate, automated and delivered in a timely fashion
Bachelor’s or Master degree (or equivalent qualification), in Business, Economics, Logistics, Mathematics, or in a related field,
Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality : you’re also able to support scoping of requirements and prioritise accordingly
You possess solid analytical skills and capabilities
Demonstrable financial acumen, familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, as well as in root cause data interpretation
Intermediate to advanced-level proficiency in Excel; you’re comfortable with macros, pivots, lookups and more
Knowledge of RFP platforms (TI, Coupa, others)
