This is a senior level role in an exciting and rapidly developing part of Amazon where there is a requirement of high level advisory and strategic work across multiple jurisdictions in the EU.
This will be a broad advisory role dealing with senior stakeholders in the business across a number of EU countries, which requires you to be prepared to take on responsibility ranging from advisory matters through to dispute and litigation strategy.
Support Amazon Transportation and Last Mile programs in the EU for labor and employment advice;
Partner with business and legal stakeholders across business lines within the EU;
Serve as point of escalation for local country legal teams for labor and employment matters;
Advise the HR and business teams on a wide range of employment related issues, including regulatory matters, in the various EU geographies;
Coordinate and support special HR and ER business projects across the EU;
Responsible for individual and collective labor and employment matters across the EU, including litigation and external counsel management;
Establish and implement best practice employment standards and policies for the supported business lines;
Advise on legal aspects of diversity initiatives of the business.
This role is based in Luxembourg and will include business travel across the EU.
Fully EU qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal qualifications;
Minimum 8 years post-qualified legal experience with at least five years at a reputed law firm with a focus on employment law;
Practical experience in employment law related matters, negotiations and litigation;
Strong commercial background;
High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the European and global legal teams;
Capacity to lead projects and coordinate external advisors.
Certified employment lawyer in any EU country;
Work experience in the transportation / logistics industry;
Experience in negotiating and drafting collective agreements with unions, works councils, etc.;
Strong drafting, negotiating and deal-making experience is a plus, as are project management skills and top analytical skills;
You have the ability to travel and contribute successfully to cross-functional teams in the region.
