Position Overview

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management (WM) offers wealthy individuals and institutions globally a wide range of traditional and alternative investment solutions across different asset classes.

Within Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. WM Luxembourg as a business unit manages EUR 10bn assets. As the strongest booking center within the European Union WM Luxembourg focuses on traditional advisory business, account management for clients of other locations worldwide as well as lending activities.

In response to the growing complexity and increasing number of credit transactions booked with WM Luxembourg, the EMEA Loan & Deposit Products (LDP) team is looking for a

Lending Officer (f / m)

The Lending Officer will be instrumental in supporting and expanding the LDP franchise on a global level. Lending Officers in Luxembourg do generate and administrate new lending transactions as well as support Lending Officers from other locations globally to book and administrate transactions with WM Luxembourg to achieving overall growth targets, whilst maintaining excellent credit quality.

There is also some interaction and cooperation with the Asset Management (AM) division of Deutsche Bank.

The Lending Officer shall support WM Client Advisors' in all their credit-related needs with respect to the full range of lending product offering (special focus on French, Spanish & UK Commercial / Residential Real Estate Financing, Single Stock Financing, Lombard Financing, Aircraft Financing and Life Insurance Financing).

Aside of supporting WM Client Advisors' and as Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. is the main European Lending Hub within Deutsche Bank, the Lending Officer shall also support and assist Lending Officers of other locations (i.

e. Switzerland, London, Germany) booking their transactions within WM Luxembourg as well as colleagues from the AM division in order to cooperate for certain client needs.

These tasks include i.e.

To determine client needs and the feasibility of a credit transaction

To structure transactions to make it acceptable from both commercial and risk standpoints

To formalize requests in a Credit Report and get it approved / join discussions for approval by / with Credit Risk Management (CRM)

  • To ensure approved transactions will also be documented in line with legal requirements (overall organization and coordination of processes with internal and external stakeholders;
  • including cooperation with legal departments)

  • To administrate approved deals throughout transaction life cycle (i.e. perform annual review of credit transactions; manage and administrate credit book in terms of ongoing conditions / tasks;
  • coordinate with Lending Officers and Client Advisors (outside of Luxembourg) as well as with CRM to manage conditions and deliver them in a timely manner)

    The Lending Officer shall aside of these direct client related tasks also support / take ownership in enhancing local processes as well as participating in global LDP projects from time to time.

    Qualifications / Skills :

    You have completed a university-level degree in business / economics or comparable degree and some experience in the credit business

    You have a good knowledge and understanding of banking processes, financial instruments as well as contractual matters

    You have good analytical, negotiation and marketing skills and have the ability to identify risks / mitigants throughout the credit process and work in a solution-focused manner

    You are fluent in English and French

    You are familiar with full set of MS office applications

    You are a motivated self-starter and demonstrate besides your strong organizational and communication skills an ability to learn and improve (within a multi-stream project type of work)

    As you will work in a big international team with colleagues placed in different Deutsche Bank locations globally, you are a flexible and open-minded team player
