acts as depositary to a broad range of investment vehicles across numerous client segments. The role of a depositary is to protect the interests of the shareholders and safeguard the fund’s assets in accordance with EU Regulations and the requirements of the CSSF.
Senior management role within depositary services reporting to the Luxembourg Head of Depositary. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of key business objectives, managing business risks, developing depositary product capabilities and developing key client and partner relationships.
The role will require significant technical and regulatory thought leadership and the ability to execute large complex programmes of work and manage strategic client relationships across our Luxembourg Depositary business.
This position is an opportunity for a suitable experienced candidate to gain exposure to all areas of the funds’ industry including regulatory, legal, compliance, accounting, transfer agency services, custody, collateral management, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities :
Leading teams to further refine and develop capabilities during a period of significant regulatory evolution and business growth.
Ensure an appropriate balance between best in class Depositary performance and end to end customer service.
Foster and further develop strategic partnerships with our clients, our other partners and stakeholders.
Lead by example, participating in and being actively engaged in the day to day and strategic oversight activities.
Assess the evolving Depositary operating model and product differentiators and develop a philosophy of continuous improvement.
Engage with our internal partners to ensure the Depositary strategy is comprehensive and supports the wider Investor Services objectives appropriately.
Ensure the Luxembourg Depositary Bank is at all times compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Required Skills / Experience :
Extensive depositary experience.
Knowledge of Luxembourg private equity, real estate, infrastructure and illiquid asset depositary requirements an advantage.
Extensive experience of the Luxembourg fund industry including legal and regulatory requirements.
Detailed understanding of the Depositary roles and responsibilities under European and Luxembourg laws and regulations.
Strategic approach to management and ability to identify and manage evolving risks.
Professional judgement, strong communication and networking skills.
Broad commercial expertise combined with a background and experience of contractual and related legal processes.
Demonstrable leadership and management capabilities.
Strong analytical skills to review evolving market practices, assess oversight metrics and results, and identify trends.
High emotional intelligence, with sound networking and influencing skills to help the Depositary team be effective.
Excellent English language skills preferably combined with working proficiency French and / or German skills.
