The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team automates and optimizes decision-making for this network.

The SCOT Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Fulfillment Optimization team in our growing Emerging Market space.

This analyst will be responsible for providing financial support for fulfillment projects that drive multi-billion dollar fulfillment decisions, and will partner closely with teams of data scientists, machine learning specialists, software developers, and product managers who lead the industry in the development of innovative algorithms and optimization strategies to maximize long term growth and profitability of Amazon’s Consumer business.

The successful candidate will have the ability to both audit and provide strategic guidance with respect to our automated fulfillment optimization software systems to continuously improve the economics of the business.

Key job responsibilities

Deliver financial analysis that drive both short-term incremental improvements and long-term strategic changes to our fulfillment optimization software.

Deep dive and dissect algorithms to test hypotheses, understand and validate inputs, identify information bias, and uncover incorrect attribution to drive continued optimization of the global fulfillment network.

Developing financial metrics based on statistical modeling and simulation techniques to determine financial viability of our investments.

Coordinate and own financial inputs for monthly and quarterly business reviews, operating plans, and project related deep dives.

Provide strategic and financial guidance and partnership to product owners and leadership regarding planned initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BA / BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)

5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to write and read basic SQL. Advanced SQL would be considered a plus

Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable items

Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment;

effective multi-tasking skills are vital

Strong knowledge of statistical modeling and testing techniques is a plus
