The University of Luxembourg (UL) invites applications for a postdoc position to work on the project Cognitive Ageing : From Educational Opportunities to Individual Risk Profiles’ funded by the European Research Council (2019-2023).
Postdoctoral researcher in cognitive ageing and dementia
Dementia risk is to a substantial extent related to so-called modifiable social and behavioural risk factors. These factors are differently predictive of dementia depending on age, and there is insufficient evidence on how dementia risk changes over the long term if a risk factor is changed.
Few dementia risk prediction models are able to accurately predict dementia risk in new data over longer time spans (i.e., one or more decades).
One of the CRISP project’s aims is to assess the value of behaviour changes and improve dementia risk prediction with machine learning.
This will be done through analysis of large-scale individual-level data collected over 15-20 years. Assessing risk of dementia at early old ages is helpful to identify participants for clinical trials and to provide targeted support via lifestyle interventions.
All applications need to be sent through the online submission system. Please upload the following documents in PDF format :
Applications will be immediately considered until the position is filled.
