efficient manner, every time. EU ATS TOM (Transportation Operations Management) team is looking for a Sr. Program Manager with strong delivery record, analytical skills and ability to own and execute strategic and cross-
functional yard management projects for EU FCs / SCs.
About the role
TOM team focuses on managing the yard activities in the Fulfillment centers and Sort centers across EU. This team is the interface between Amazon sites and the Supply Chain / Trans organizations.
You will be responsible for developing and managing the program management activities and drive new initiatives / projects for TOM team.
You will also drive and rollout the tech initiatives and manage the launch activities in existing and new FCs / SCs in Europe.
To be successful in this role, you need strong business acumen and analytical skills allowing the data to lead us to a better understanding of how we can improve the yard management processes.
Also key is the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to learn Amazon systems, identify the impact, and effectively communicate to various levels of management internal and external to Amazon.
Responsibilities
Own the program management activities for the EU TOM
Manage the TOM launch related activities to cover the existing and new FCs / SCs in Europe
Drive and rollout the tech initiatives for step changes in yard performances
Independently own the designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining the large scale projects.
Set and clarify the business requirements and targets with the TOM Operations Managers
Establish and maintain the operations metrics and communicate them to TOM leadership and Operations Managers through daily / weekly review meetings
Drive the new initiatives to improve safety, quality, and yard processes to meet and exceed the business requirements
Document the standard operations processes and take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and among the network
Work closely with the Operations Managers and sites’ support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their areas
Requires some travel mainly within Europe
Basic qualifications
Bachelors’ or Master’s Degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience
Significant work experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally in logistics, supply chain, transportation or manufacturing industry
Strong experience of data mining, business analytics and data-driven decision making skills
Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement and lean techniques
High ability to deal with ambiguity and handle changing priorities, to effectively prioritize, to multitask, and to use good judgment in pressure situations
Ability to develop creative and scalable solutions independently, and drive them from ideation to successful completion;
results oriented; "self-starter"
Flexible to work a variety of hours as per the business demands
Strong oral communication and excellent business writing skills - able to communicate effectively with senior management, tech teams, and international stakeholders.
Fluent in English
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or similar education in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a similar related discipline
MBA preferred
Experience with lean process, kaizen, six sigma, and process improvement
SQL, Data Analysis and Excel savvy.
