Within the University, the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is a highly interdisciplinary research centre (IC), integrating experimental biology and computational biology approaches in order to develop the foundation of a future predictive, preventive and personalized medicine.
Area : Neurodegeneration; Parkinson’s disease; organoid based in vitro disease modeling
Our lab uses human stem cells for modelling neurodegenerative diseases, Parkinson’s disease (PD) in particular. We aim on developing novel, complex in vitro models that are specific for the human brain.
In this particular project, we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who is interested in using patient specific induced pluripotent stem cells for the generation of cellular models, including human patient specific midbrain organoids and astrocytes.
These models will be used to investigate the role of autophagy in cellular senescence in the context of PD.
What we expect from you
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in either neurobiology or human stem cell research. Additionally, proven experience in either high content imaging or drug discovery would be an advantage.
A successful candidate should be willing to take leadership and responsibility for this project. We offer a young and dynamic environment and access to state-of-the art techniques.
