Plant Finance Manager Unlimited Contract McBride Foetz is hiring for a Plant Finance Manager who will be responsible for all financial aspects of the Foetz plant operations including financial forecasting, planning, budgeting, financial control systems and will support the Plant Management in the operations of the Plant in all ways.
This role will be part of the Foetz SMT and report to the Head of Finance Powders Plants Operations.
Duties / Responsibilities : To be responsible for monitoring monthly and YTD actual costs of production vs.
standard costs and financial forecasts, including analysis of variances and making recommendations to management for improvements to standards and processes.
To prepare financial-based production reports for plant management and Powder leadership team.
To prepare for presentation to leadership team all post-closing plant financial analysis, key performance metric reports, and provide meaningful commentary including detailed manufacturing variance analysis and factory overheads spends.
To prepare the annual budget for presentation to management including plant department expenses, capital spending budget, manufacturing variances plan.
To prepare monthly / quarterly plant forecasts and ad-hoc analysis as required.
To verify in-plant inventories monthly.
Audit inventory cycle counts to ensure compliance with group standards.
Maintain excess and obsolete inventory listings and actively work with departments to manage and reduce obsolescence-related costs.
To prepare capital spending requests, financial analysis including payback calculation and discounted cash flow.
Prepare project status updates and post appraisal.
To demonstrate knowledge of all elements of plant financial statements and partner with plant management to drive continuous improvement in plant efficiency.
To monitor, track and help drive to conclusion key plant cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting.
To present a finance perspective to the local management team.
To be responsible for developing and maintaining written procedures for all accounting related functions within the plant where appropriate.
To manage and develop a plant finance analyst.
Qualifications and Experience required : Minimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting and / or controller experience within a manufacturing organisation.
Fluency in English.
Knowledge of management accounting and cost and inventory accounting.
Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
Experience of standard costing.
Experience using SAP is preferred.
Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage projects and work independently.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation and across multiple functions.
Focus on continuous improvement and the elimination of non-value add activities.
Ability to effectively develop people and transfer knowledge into and across the financial and manufacturing organisations.
