Quality Engineer (F / M)

Reporting to the Plant Quality Manager based in Greystones - Ireland , the Quality Technician in Dinnington will be responsible for the tasks listed (non-exhaustive list) below :

  • Customer complaint root cause analysis, reporting and interface with customer (in conjunction with QA manager)
  • Provide direct production support in relation to disposition of product on Hold and Vendor supplier issues
  • Implement actions as a result of complaints internal and external audits
  • Review and update local SOP’S, procedures and records
  • Ensuring compliance to the IMS systems manual (BRC ,ISO 14001)
  • Participate in Internal and external audit programs
  • Support to production in new product introduction (protocols, product approval and SOP development)
  • Participates in visits to customers as they arise
  • Organises the QA lab in relation to organising improving lab systems and file control
  • Develop test methods / programs for lab testing equipment
  • Monitors the key trends (product testing, GMP, Hygiene) and participate in quality systems training
  • Organise and manage the testing of products and environmental swabbing
  • Takes part in the analysis and maintenance of the BRC system
  • Local legislation and regulation management contact in relation to group legislation requirement updates, specific requests from customers, DoC, Specifications and general upkeep of documentation
  • Local H&S officer to management of H&S procedures and Policies
  • Responsible for Quality decisions in absence of the Quality manager
  • Support to Quality Manager in quality engineer role of Greystones site in absence of Greystone QA engineer.
  • Requirements

  • Third level qualification or equivalent in a quality, science, engineering or plastics discipline
  • Knowledge and familiarity with industry specifications / codes / standards / legislation (BRC, ISO, HACCP)
  • Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices
  • Good overall communicator and organiser with good understanding of working with people and self-motivated
  • Good knowledge of computer software packages and ability to learn new ones (excel, word, ERPs, SPC)
