Finance professionals play a critical role in supporting the demands of multiple constituents, including AIG executives, regulators, and stakeholders, while staying at the forefront of accounting and reporting requirements and compliance strategies.

The Finance team includes Treasury and Capital Markets; Actuarial and Value Management; Finance Operations; and the Enterprise Finance Transformation program.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Develop deep knowledge of businesses, including key levers driving performance and market conditions.
  • Monthly reporting, review and analysis of both ledger and non-ledger data, including actuarial data.
  • Develop actionable insightful commentary to product leaders and Europe management, combining various data sources.
  • Combining business knowledge and analytics, review and challenge the reasonability of country plans and forecasts.
  • Through combining financial trends, company capability and market dynamics, support management in shaping optimal performance strategies.
  • Coordinate budget planning through dissemination of strategic guidance and targets.
  • Support the regional MBR Process and other ad-hoc Business Reviews. Support controllers with issue identification during close process.
  • Build a strong network across Geography, Product, Finance, Actuarial and Distribution stakeholders at both country, region and International levels.

  • Excellent time management & organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication (written and presentational) skills.

  • Interpersonal, Team and Communication Skills : Strong interpersonal skills and great team player, with the ability to communicate effectively with impact across functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade, influence and convince others.

    Matrix leadership through robust delivery management, coaching and guidance.

  • Financial and Strategic Acumen : Accomplished in engagement, partnership andcross functional collaboration at an Executive Level.
  • Driven finance individual with in-depth knowledge of the Profit Centre lines in terms of both UW and Expenses. Highly analytical mind with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-

    financial colleagues. Be able to adapt to change.

  • Technical Skills : Strong data and financial systems knowledge. Practical within existing data limitations and creative with new solutions.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a continuous improvement mind-set and bring suggestions and proposed solutions to the table.

    Strong focus on attention to detail and the desire to deliver accuracy and quality. Specialist understanding of accounting and control for insurance.

    Awareness of accounting practises and policies.

    Key Experience -

  • Extensive experience working in a financial services firm, preferably insurance.
  • Experience of working in a matrix reporting structure and within an onshore-offshore model.
  • Previous FP&A and Business Partnering support preferable
