FINANCE & ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Essential Job Functions

  • Accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statement and analysis against budget
  • Manage all purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger functions
  • Ensure the Finance Department is compliant with the Company’s operating rules, policies and procedures
  • Duties

  • Maintenance of the general ledger, including posting of journals, prepayments, accruals, payroll & interest journals
  • Review of purchase invoices to ensure correct posting
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers and depreciation
  • Weekly cash book reconciliations, ensuring any discrepancies resolved
  • Maintain lease database and ensure sales invoices are raised in a timely manner
  • Processing and payment of monthly employee expense claims, and processing of company credit card statements
  • Production of VAT and other tax returns, and submission to the tax authority or provide accurate information in a timely manner so fiduciaries can prepare submissions.
  • Review submissions and resolve any queries.

  • Assistance with Corporation Tax (incl. Capital Allowances) computations, and liaison with company’s Corporation Tax advisors
  • Lead, develop and motivate all direct reports. Identify training requirements and mentor team members
  • Monitor cash balances and ensure immediate funding requests are submitted on a timely basis
  • Authorise weekly payment runs. Regularly review creditors ledger to ensure all queries resolved and invoices paid within payment terms
  • Monitor and analyze results against budgets and explain variances to support production of the monthly consolidated management accounts and identify risks
  • Build key relationships with the senior stakeholders and the wider commercial teams
  • Support the operational and commercial teams providing key insight to improve on performance
  • Ensure the Finance function is equipped with adequate and suitably qualified resources to ensure compliance with relevant corporate regulatory requirements
  • Support the preparation / production of the Company’s monthly payroll processes
  • Assist with the company’s annual accounts preparation and audit processes with external providers
  • Support the maintenance of an appropriate internal financial controls and risk management processes
  • Provide financial information required to secure debt facilities. Prepare quarterly covenant calculations
  • Work with the FP&A team to support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow requirements
  • Ensure PR / PO’s are correctly authorised.
  • Work with the operational teams to ensure spend is controlled
  • Support the business with adhoc requests for financial planning and analysis
  • Ensure the Company’s internal financial control systems, processes and policies are complied with by all parts of the Company’s operations, including supply chain management, purchasing controls, payment authorizations
  • Job Requirements

    Degree in Finance or professional qualification, strongly preferred

    5 to 10 years of experience in related field and similar functions

  • Fluency in French and English ;
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail are crucial
  • Experience in dealing with customer issues and problem solve
  • Able to plan, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers.
  • Assertive and confident with a high level of personal and professional credibility
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Assertive and confident and able to quickly build a high level of personal and professional credibility within the business and customer base
  • Ability to lead and engage people in a fast-changing environment to achieve results through others
  • Experience in managing teams strongly preferred
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, influencing and negotiating at the most senior levels
  • Work effectively in collaboration cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives
