Supports and advises the Dean and the Faculty Executive team in the strategic and operational budget activities of the Faculty.
Initiate improvement of management accounting systems and tools (controlling, cost accounting and capital budgeting) within the Faculty
Provides effective leadership to the finance, HR controlling and grant office team.
Initiate change to improve processes, procedures and workflows.
Lead the budget process of the Faculty in collaboration with the financial department of Central Administration.
Prepare recommendations and decision support for management in case of identified budget deviation
Continuously review and improve operational effectiveness and consistency through process, technology and / or people development
Engage with funding agencies / bodies
A Master degree with emphasis on Finance / Controlling, MBA or DBA will be considered a plus
Proven successful experience in financial planning, controlling and grant management.
Experience within the public sector (ideally in a research / education environment) and the capacity to develop management accounting systems are considered as an advantage
Experience with SAP ERP system is considered as a strong advantage
Computer literate, very good knowledge in Excel is required.
Very good communication and analytical skills, conceptual and structured thinking
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to present complex business models and analysis to management
Project management skills, and a proven record of successfully managing and completing all aspects of large, complex and organisational-wide projects including implementation and change management.
Fluency in English and in French or German, any other languages are considered a plus
