The Architect is responsible for the definitionof Monitoring architecture. TheArchitect will also assist project teams with technical issues including thedefinition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy, research &development within the project life-
cycle; technical analysis and design; andsupport of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-outsolutions.
Main activities / profile :
Designand review monitoring architecture
Responsiblefor the evolution of the products, and the implementation of future versions
Participatein the definition of procedures to be used by technical teams
Providestechnical lead for the SCOM and Nagios Monitoring technologies
Capacitymanagement for the monitoring tools
Participatein the integration with collaborative tools and components
Promoteand follow prescribed project management guidelines for projects
Maintaindocumentation for all operational / support processes for the systemssupported; automate repetitive processes where appropriate
Staycurrent with new technologies and techniques as appropriate
BS / BAin Computer Science or related field or the equivalent work experience.
Minimum6 to 10 years of related work experience including solid exposure to enterprisearchitecture
Provenexperience in SCOM and / or Nagios (any other monitoring tool is considered as anasset);
Abilityto understand and design complex architecture for monitoring;
Understandingof the monitored technologies like windows, Unix, Linux, storage bays, ...
Knowledgeof OS (Windows / Unix) basedinfrastructure services, processing, monitoring, scripting languages(powershell, shell, python etc) . is considered as an asset;
Provenexperience programming languages is considered as an asset;
Experiencein application / network performance and availability monitoring
Knowledgeof ITIL functions and processes;
Experiencewith administration methods, CMD, Console, WLST is considered as an asset;
Abilityto work and communicate in a multi-cultural environment;
Abilityto communicate in writing and verbally in a clear and concise manner;
Initiative,accuracy and attention to detail;
Fluentin English (written and spoken) is essential;
Anyother European language is a plus.
