The production of a comprehensive daily trading P&L andbalance sheet
The execution of regular independent price verification, ensuringthat the appropriate accounting principles are applied
Partnering with the firm’s business areas and other support groupsin facilitating new products and initiatives
Developing and reporting management accounting information
If successfully appointed you will be joining a team who will beenhancing process, reporting and controls whilst ensuring the flawlessexecution of BAU.
The team will alsobalance the delivery of critical projects whilst identifying those that arestrategic and those that are tactical.

About Barclays Luxembourg and BarclaysCapital Luxembourg Legal Entity Control tasks
Barclays Luxembourg was established in 2006and the business has grown significantly since then. Currently there are circa50 people working in Luxembourg including colleagues from Markets, Treasury,Compliance, IT, HR, Finance, Middle Office and Trade Capture Utility.
The role will require taking ownership for twodistinct legal entity control work-streams :
1.Legal entitycontrol for Barclays Capital Luxembourg SARL :
Implementation andmonitoring of key internal product and financial controls to ensure a robustcontrols environment.
First point of callfor key accounting judgments, change programmes and issues at the legal entitylevel
Handling tasks ingeneral accounting and liaising with internal as well as external auditorsensuring audits are handled effectively.
Preparation of thecompany annual report (prepared under Lux Gaap) and financial information forthe company tax returns.
Coordinating andmanaging the payroll administration with the external service provider.
Legal entitycontrol for the local service company :
books and recordsmaintenance
coordinatingongoing funding requirements
accurate accountingof the service company
provide accuratecost MI to the Business
performing theperiodic recharge of operating costs to other Luxembourg subsidiaries in linewith Barclays Luxembourg Resource Sharing Agreement
Ad-hoc projectsincluding on boarding the service company onto standard firm architecture.
external reportingtasks including VAT submissions and Banque Centrale statistical reporting
Overall purpose of the role
The Barclays Capital Luxembourg S.à r.l. entitycontroller is responsible for the preparation of statutory, regulatory, tax andmanagement reports for the activity undertaken by the Equity Financingbusiness.
He or she will ensureintegrity of financial information by implementing and monitoring appropriatereporting controls.This is achieved bystriving to execute in a consistent and timely manner, and by implementing bestpractices globally.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out infull compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk ManagementFramework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenrequired
Able to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environmentwhile meeting deadlines required

EssentialSkills / Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree required
Part or Fully Qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA / CFA
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals required
A strong practical understanding of the importance ofrigorous controls environment
Attention to detail and diligence combined with goodanalytical problem solving skills
Ability to pick up concepts quickly and to challengeexisting thinking and processes
Strong MS Excel skills required, other financial systemsexperience a plus
Desirableskills / Preferred Qualifications :
Responsible attitude with sound time management skills,and the ability to meet deadlines
Hands-on mentality, independent thinker
Good technical understanding of International FinancialReporting Standards and LuxembourgGAAP
