Gates Industrial Corporation has an opportunity for senior finance professional at its EMEA headquarters in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.
This position will be responsible for managing the finance activities accounting, tax, treasury - for Gates’ business in Luxembourg.
In addition, the incumbent will take over the finance business partnering role for the sales and marketing function in the region.
He / she will work closely with the region’s President, VP’s and Directors of Sales and Marketing, EMEA finance, as well the Denver based corporate headquarters finance team.
Manages the Finance department activities for Luxembourg. This encompasses the supervision and control of all finance activities accounting, tax, treasury -
for Gates entities in these countries. Produces timely and accurately monthly, quarterly and annual financials in line with Gates timetable and in line with company standards (US GAAP).
First contact for the Auditing Company during Year-End Closing and preparation of the Annual Report. Manages quarterly tax reporting in accord with US GAAP ASC 740 and ensures compliance with all required local tax filings.
Manages several Luxembourg holding companies, including regular board meetings and the tax and other implications of significant.
Luxembourg based holdings and financing activities Supports regional business, legal entity, and tax related restructuring activities related to Luxembourg and its significant investments in affiliates Manages international transfer pricing controversies and provide audit support (IDR responses, financial analysis and coordination with advisers) in cooperation with EMEA Tax team and ensure all VAT / Intrastat Declarations are completed and returned in a timely manner.
Acts as a Business Partner to the region’s President, VP’s and Directors of Sales and Marketing in their efforts to generate demand, extract value from pricing and execute sales plans in a short-
mid- and long-term perspective Works together with Marketing and Market Intelligence to fully understand the competitive position of Gates across the served markets and channels and helps to define a funnel of opportunities to either gain or increase the company’s market shares across the served marketing segments Steers cash generation process in the region, by putting in place solid and consistent credit policies and executing them accordingly in line with the overruling corporate guidelines and taking into account the value of commercial relationships with customers.
Position Dimensions : Reports directly to the Senior Finance Director EMEA. Manages and coaches the accounting teams and is responsible for the well-
functioning of all accounting, tax and treasury related activities. Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and the rolling forecast.
Responsible for collecting receivables, administering payables and cash disbursements. Fully responsible for the US GAAP quarterly tax provision and compliance with local tax filing obligations.
Organizes the Accounting department so that employees in all positions do have a sufficient back-up. Skills required : Experience in partnering effectively throughout an organization to develop and drive global initiatives.

Knowledge of MS Office applications and Accounting / ERP systems (SAP experience beneficial). Fluency in English is mandatory.
Good notion of French and / or German is an advantage. Education and experience required : Masters / MBA degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 8-
10 years Finance / Accounting experience in an international company. Experience in leading a Finance department. Experience in implementing new Accounting / ERP systems.
Proven track record in business partnering with a commercial organization in manufacturing environment. Strong commercial acumen.
Exposure to executive management in a multinational corporation. Effective negotiator with strong project management and verbal communication skills.
Strong ethical stance, high personal integrity.
