Role Profile : Regional Expat Medical Product Head - Europe Role can be based in any of the European countries As of July 2019 Role description : A leadership position reporting to the Europe Head of A&H, this position will develop, execute and monitor Europe Expat Medical product strategy, P&L, underwriting strategy, and pricing guardrails.

  • The current geographic footprint includes 16 countries. Development and execution of the Europe Expat Medical Strategy Accountability for Expatriate Medical P&L Europe - execute against growth and profitability goals and objectives Excellent understanding of the Expat Medical / iPMI industry including business model E2E, underwriting methodology, and the risks we assume Drive underwriting excellence across the Expat Medical product line, by establishing and ensuring adherence to risk appetite, line setting, standards and guidelines, and ensure rating and pricing adequacy Develop and co-own multi-year product strategy roadmap for Expat Medical to support growth through market and product expansion opportunities Identify and recommend new markets, products, services and tools, as well as marketing distribution & underwriting Strategies Establish strong relationships with Regional leadership;
  • create mutual understanding of overall Expat Medical product strategy to drive effective execution of business model. Matrix lead UW teams to deliver on departmental goals & objectives and ensuring organisational structure and processes are best fit to serve external and internal customers.

    Provide guidance and training to market facing teams to drive optimal results Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary) Oversee product portfolio development and management activities including monitoring of key indicators for product performance including product metrics to optimize financial performance, perform market and competitor analysis and study opportunities for product refinements, and recommend new product options and enhancements Management and optimization of TPAs / external partners to optimize the value chain of the Expat Medical business line - claims and service excellence Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and actively participate in relevant governance committees.

    Drive and proactively monitor a consistent and coherent global underwriting governance framework Location : Continental Europe Reporting Lines Reports to : European Head of A&H Leadership Skills : Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams Experience of working as part of a senior management team and leading and articulating organisational strategy Proven ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders Highly collaborative approach across functions and geographies Ability to manage and influence in a matrix structure and across a wide geography Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team Managing multi-disciplined teams Strong leadership and influencing skills at a senior level Up / Down stakeholder management Technical Skills and Expertise : At least 7 years insurance leadership experience, including oversight of Expat Medical product in multiple geographies including P&L responsibility Excellent understanding of the Expat Medical / iPMI industry including business model E2E and expert technical underwriting background Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution Established strong relationships with customers, intermediaries, and regulators Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills Experience of leading change in various business scenarios, including restructuring, integration and mature growth markets Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills Project Management and continuously improvement experience Experience working in a complex, global matrix organisation Established strong relationships with customers, intermediaries, and regulators Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills It has been and will continue to be the policy of American International Group, Inc.
