Within the Lombard Odier Europe SA (LOESA) Finance function, the Head of Accounting supervises the Location Financial Controllers and General Accounting teams, which together form the Accounting function.
The Head of Accounting is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Accounting function can operate to :
Control and maintain accuracy and completeness of accounting books in accordance with the internal chart of accounts and relevant accounting GAAPs
Apply the correct tax treatment to operations / transactions and discharge tax obligation
YOUR MISSION :
Coordinates Accounting Officers and Location Financial Controllers to achieve accurate and complete accounting books both at location and LOESA consolidated level
Supervision of the End-of-Period (EoP) closings, account certification exercises and the annual statutory closing
Oversight of tax returns and the calculation of tax provisions, ensure timely declaration and payments
Monitoring, control and relationship management with tax advisers
Support the Accounting team in dealing by identifying tactical / long-term solutions
Ensure standardization and consistency of accounting activities / procedures / documentation for each LOESA location
Define and document accounting policies / standards (e.g. tangible and intangible assets, IFRS9, IFRS16 )
Maintain the existing process documents up-to-date ; document accounting & tax activities and related internal controls, through process documentation
Improve, streamline and strengthen accounting / tax processes with the aim at decreasing time spent by Financial Controllers on EoP activities and by leveraging on Group resources and systems
Define and report KPIs for accounting / tax activities
Acts as accounting SME on new business / product initiatives to identify accounting / tax risks and validate accounting schemes
Preparation of the LOESA annual financial statements
Collaboration with external audit, internal audit and compliance reviews.
Ensure 12 / 552 obligations in relation with accounting function
Back-up to the Head of Finance
DESIRED PROFILE :
MSC in Finance, Accounting or equivalent, followed by 10+ years of relevant work experience
French & English mandatory; any other language (Dutch, Italian, Spanish) a plus
Extensive financial accounting experience, preferably within the private banking sector
Proven record of accomplishment in managing an accounting function across several countries & jurisdiction
Experience of working in an international, multicultural environment
Strong business experience and product / process knowledge
Strong technical skills in accounting (IFRS and LUX GAAPs) as well as VAT
